Tubbs Hill Prescription Burn November 11, 2025

The City of Coeur d’Alene Parks Department and the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department are coordinating a prescribed burn of piles of cut vegetation with Kootenai County and the Idaho Department of Lands on Tubbs Hill. The prescribed burn is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

This summer, tree crews pruned vegetation and felled some dead trees. The cut vegetation was piled at various locations around Tubbs Hill in preparation for burning when weather conditions were deemed favorable. November is the best time for burning for purposes of control.

Tubbs Hill will be closed to the public during the prescribed burn. A minimum of two days of no access is expected.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we are taking steps to create a safer and healthier Tubbs Hill.

This project is funded in part by the Idaho Department of Lands in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service.
